EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is one of the most researched and most effective trauma therapies in the world. It is used to decrease the frequency and intensity of distress felt by certain memories or thoughts, and free us from feeling “stuck”.
EMDR is used to treat anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD, and so much more. It also helps to alleviate distress from negative core beliefs such as “I’m not good enough”, “I’m worthless”, “I should have done something”, and more by treating the memories and thoughts feeding those beliefs, and changing them into something more positive.
EMDR is proven to be more successful and take less time to treat than traditional talk therapies in most cases.
Perinatal/Postpartum Mood and Anxiety
One in seven women will experience perinatal/postpartum depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. Women who experience this often feel constantly on edge, are plagued by “what if” and other scary thoughts, are unable to sleep due to fears that something bad will happen to their baby, and feel hopeless as they are unable to stop the worry. Unfortunately though, many mothers are afraid to seek help due to fears that others will think they are “crazy” or take away their baby. However, this is furthest from the truth, and help is available! If you or someone you love are suffering from these or other symptoms, please contact us to start your healing journey.
Gottman Method Couples Counseling
The Gottman Method is scientifically based on the 40 years of research performed by John and Julie Gottman. It includes a thorough assessment to better understand all underlying concerns in the relationship (like a relationship Xray). The counselor then uses research-based interventions based on the Sound Relationship House Theory to help disarm conflicting verbal communication, increase intimacy, respect, and affection, remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy, and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding within the context of the relationship.

“I began therapy because I was starting a family, and I didn’t want to become like my mom. Through EMDR, I not only overcame my childhood trauma, I learned to love and forgive myself. Looking back, I never thought it possible to have come this far.”
